Dynamite to ‘Open’ New Rivalry with US Arena Open Cup

The Denver Dynamite look to start a new rivalry with a BANG January 6th as they host the Round of 16 match against the Colorado Blizzard for the 2011-12 edition of the US Arena Open Cup (USAOC) where the winner will be pitted against the winner of the Springfield Demize/Vitesse Dallas match in the Quarters.

This will be the 3rd time in the last 4 years that the Denver has made appearance in the indoor version of the nation’s oldest competition (twice previously as a member of the Professional Arena Soccer League.) In both previous entries, the Dynamite have advanced into the Quarter Finals, falling at the hands of the Tacoma Stars and Vitesse Dallas respectively.

And with several former Dynamite members now on the Colorado Blizzard coupled with the prospect of facing either Dallas for a rematch of 2009-10 or Springfield (former club of Denver’s Justin Ferguson) should they advance, elevates each of these matches to an all time high with bragging rights on the line.

The US Arena Soccer Open Cup Championship is a separate title from the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro) championship. The tournament consists of the opening round (open to anyone, including local Mens Open and PASL-Premier teams), regional events, elimination play (round of 16), a final four round and the championship.

The Dynamite continue to look at capturing their first Rocky Mountain Division, US Arena Open Cup and PASL-Premier championship titles when they open at home January 6th, 7:30PM at the Westridge Recreation Center in Highlands Ranch, CO. Single game tickets are just $5 at the door for general admission and $1 for HRCA members.
