Liberty High School Sophomore, Nick Robbins, was signed as an honorary
member of the 2012-13 Denver Dynamite Premier Arena Soccer League indoor
soccer club following the conclusion of the final open Try Out on
October 27th.
Nick started playing soccer at the age of 4 in various recreation
leagues from Brooklyn, NY to Florence, SC. As his love for the sport
grew, so did his heart and dedication - having helped coach 4 and 5 year-olds for roughly two seasons.
As an assistant coach and role model, Nick quickly gained the
admiration, love and trust of his players to the point they would jump
on and tackle him at the end of a match.
But shortly after
Robbins made his way to Colorado Springs, where he played for Pride
Soccer Club, he took a break from the game to try get his life in
order. When he returned; he was a Freshman at Falcon High School
holding a 2.7GPA. However, determined to still be more, Nick transferred
to Liberty High School his Sophomore year and boosted his GPA up to a
3.7 while playing sub-varsity and plans to return to Pride this Spring.
The Denver Dynamite will return to action this December, where they
not only have their sights on another Open Cup run and winning the
division, but also reaching out to the Youth and various organizations
like Mended Little Hearts to give hope and back to the community.
