Rebuilding an Arsenal: That is Dynamite!

After last season’s 2nd place finish, the Denver Dynamite decided to revamp the team with a fresh look built around its original core.

After securing another deal with the Apex Center to be the home field again for the 2012-13 season; Technical Director and Coach, Chuck Estrada reached out to Jay Hamilton to be the Player/Coach for the Dynamite.  Jay was one of the first players signed, and a key component to the success, by the Denver Dynamite in 2008 - its first pro season.

Jay then brought on, longtime friend and teammate, Tony Thomas as his Player/Assistant Coach for game time flexibility while keeping inline with the core ideas.

“It’s important to have that extra guy there helping to make key decisions and I trust both Jay and Tony, whether in my presence or my inevitable absences this season.” Says Estrada

With venue and coaching staff in hand, the Denver held their tryouts last month and retained 32 for their preseason camp, before signing 24 to the roster.  Among those signed were Chad Pearson, Sean Stedeford and Travis Carey who were alongside Jay Hamilton and Tony Thomas during the Dynamite’s inaugural season.  Adding further to the core are Michael Ogletree, Robby Monoroe, Mark Cromie, Justin Ferguson and Tony Avery who joined the team in its sophomore season as well as Josh Elbaum (Colorado Lightning).  Others signed were as follows: Garrision Goodner, Greg Borchers, Dan Millard, Danny Bills, Robert Garcia, Jordan Howes, Keegan Miller, Luke Burgard, Ryan Truxal, Joey Covillo, George Hunt, Tyler Amerman and Jordan Oakley.

“We have combined the experience of former professional and Dynamite players with the youth of our new starlets which we will combine to target both Rocky Mountain Division and National Championship berths.” Estrada

The Dynamite open their 2012-13 Campaign 8:30PM at home on December 15th  after an US Open Arena Soccer Championship qualifying match against the CSC Calvary on December 1st in Monument.  Single game tickets are just $5 (8 & Up) and season passes, which include admission for up to 4 individuals to all 4 regular season home games are being sold for just $35 with $5 of the proceeds going to the Mended Little Hearts Foundation
